LG Prada on contract from Dial A Phone |
The LG Prada is a great looking and very sleek mobile phone.
The LG Prada or KE850 is a tri-band GSM phone with GPRS and EDGE. It has a large screen 240 x 400 pixels and a touch sensitive display that can playback video clips in widescreen. There is also the usual features such as Bluetooth 2.0, microSD expandable memory, FM radio and a nice 2 megapixel camera.
The LG Prada camera uses a Schneider Kreuznach lens and LED flash to ensure you get very good high quality photos and videos. To be honest, we hadn't heard of Schneider Kreuznach - but they manufacture pretty much every lens for Kodak, so if you have a Kodak camera check out the name on the lens.
The LG KE850 Prada also comes with a full set of software. There is a very good multimedia player capable of playing MP3, AAC, WMA and RealAudio sound files, plus MPEG4, H.263 and H.264 video. There is a good web browser with Adobe and Macromedia Flash support, a document viewer (for text, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat file types) and an email client and messaging applications. This is a great looking and feature packed phone.

I got the Prada LG the day it launched in London after calling for weeks to find out when it was going to finally show up in O2 stores. The packaging is beautiful, the phone is beautiful, the quality on all calls and texts has been fantastic. I've now had it for 2 and a half months and still love it - not a single regret. Like most new phones, it is difficult to break your old habits and learn the best way to use the features; going from a traditional phone to a touch screen made this slightly more difficult. It took me about 2 weeks to adjust to hitting the right buttons when texting and the T9 dictionary needs expanding, but I love this phone. I still haven't touched the MP3 player or FM radio (I have an iPod), but the camera puts out great pictures and is very easy to use.
Pros - face it - it's beautiful. It also works as well as my previous phone (Motorola Razr).
Cons - difficult to use in bright sunshine, which is luckily not much of an issue in the UK.
I recommend this phone to any label-savvies out there. People still stop and stare every time I take it out and are constantly asking if they can play with it. I have had no trouble with battery life - I travel frequently and have never even taken the charger with me unless I was going for more than 3 nights. I have used it in Europe and in the US with no problems whatsoever. Way to go LG and thank you for giving me a fashionable AND functional phone.

I'm planning to buy the LG Prada phone. I mean as somebody else mentioned here, it's Prada and looks fantastic. I saw it on a few shops, it is extremely thin and lightweight. I'm not too concerned about its GB as I use my ipod for listening music. On the other hand, I got conflicting info. about its tri-band feature. Due to work, I frequently go to the US and just want to make sure that this phone will be able to work in America. This is a major concern for me and I got even more suspicious when heard that it wasn't launched in the US. Does anyone have accurate info on this? I really appreciate your help.
